The Name Change Project will assign you a local attorney who will perform all of the legal requirements for a name change for free. There are still costs associated with the name change procedure that the attorney will discuss with you, but end up being under $100. This does not include the funds necessary to order new identification documents.

Able to help in getting an expungement of any criminal record that is not a misdemeanor or felony plea or conviction. An expungement is an essential component of a name change. There is the possibility of a pardon available for those who have misdemeanors and felonies and they should still contact the program if that is impeding their name change.
